Like all new technology, things move faster than you could ever expect. Driverless cars will be no exception. Often the law catches up with technology way after it has advanced. This can't, unfortunately, happen with driverless cars. Victoria and the whole of Australia, must act quickly to have Laws, Rules and Regulations to govern the use of driverless cars. If not, many unnecessary collisions will occur causing suffering and further expense to the community. If we don't act urgently , the courts will be clogged with disputes about blame and responsibility for accidents or tragedies. The Governments of Australia should act now as driverless cars are just around the corner.
