Adviceline Injury Lawyers were pleased to learn that the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017 has been amended to better protect workers who cut, grind or polish engineered stone in Victoria.

There are now minimum control requirements for these activities which is another step forward to protect workers in the stone industry.

Workers who suffer a respiratory disease from working with stone may be able to allege that their employers breached these new regulations giving rise to the potential for compensation. Employers in the stone industry should take special notice of this change in the law.
