Building products and builders beware

Building products and builders beware

Pressure is being directed at the Federal Government regarding asbestos containing imports after asbestos was found in cement compound board imported from China in September 2015. To date, those with an asbestos related disease tended to work for manufacturers of asbestos products or were tradesmen working with the actual products. We have been watching the third wave of sufferers - those home renovators who are uncovering asbestos. The importing of products now creates a potential fourth wave of sufferers - those who are injured by products that are freshly imported into our country. A critical risk for those people is that identifying the provider of the product many years later when a disease develops will be almost impossible and any chances of compensation will be very slim. If you have been exposed to asbestos and are suffering a asbestos related illness, contact Bree Knoester on 03 9321 9879 to discuss your potential entitlements.
