Adviceline Injury Lawyers is a specialist personal injury law firm in Victoria, with particular expertise in work injury (including hearing loss), accidents on the road, public place slips and trips and claims of negligence (including medical negligence and misconduct, and sexual abuse).
For more than 50 years, we have been helping injured Victorians access the compensation they need to get their lives back on track. We take on all types of cases and represent all parts of the community, including people who find it difficult to afford a lawyer or who speak a language other than English. Several of our lawyers speak many different languages including Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) and Greek.
Our firm’s approach to providing legal services is centered around the needs of the client, and being boutique in size, our team can be agile and responsive to all client requests and provide a tailored approach to existing and new clients.
The Adviceline legal team is made up of award-winning industry leaders and accredited specialists who regularly meet and collaborate to ensure excellent client outcomes. Solicitors work closely with paralegals and administrative staff to ensure that clients receive timely expert advice in a critical time of need. We are a fun, friendly, tight knit team offering work/life balance through a social and dynamic work environment.
An opportunity has arisen for a casual paralegal or administrative assistant to join the Adviceline team in our Springvale office. This role will provide administrative support and assistance to the Office Team Leader/Senior Associate in managing and running a range of Workcover claims on behalf of clients. As a key member of the team, you will ultimately contribute to the development of our expert worker’s compensation, personal injury litigation and public liability practice.
Duties will include:
- file maintenance and management
- preparation of correspondence and Court documents
- regular contact with clients, including addressing basic client enquiries
- billing and disbursement management
- liaising with external third parties including defendants and expert witnesses
- general administrative duties.
Skills and experience
This is a busy role that requires someone who:
- is proactive with strong initiative
- is comfortable managing files in a fast paced environment and communicating directly with clients
- demonstrates excellent organisational and communication (both written and verbal) skills
- is a team player with a friendly, down to earth nature, and is happy to assist where needed
- has an eye for detail.
Technically, you will demonstrate intermediate to advanced proficiency in the MS Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
This opportunity suits a career paralegal/administrative assistant with experience in a similar, client facing role, or a law student in the early years of their law degree that is looking to develop their practical legal skills in a supportive, fast-paced and fun environment. Ideally you will be available to attend our office 4 days a week.
