Dr Shafiul Anam Milky, a doctor formerly practising at Peninsula Family Medical Practice, has been placed under “gender based” and “practice location” restrictions by the Medical Board of Australia.

The Medical Board of Australia suspended the medical registration of Dr Milky in September 2019.  It was reinstated in November 2019.  Their website states that he has been cleared to practice from Colac Medical Centre, Colac Central Medical Centre and Mount Clear Medical Centre; and he must not treat female patients.

It is suggested that the allegations against Dr Milky relate to inappropriate behaviour (misconduct).

Adviceline Injury Lawyers commenced Supreme Court proceedings against Dr Milky on behalf of a former patient in December 2019.  Patients continue to come forward and consider their legal options.

If you, or someone you know, has been a patient of Dr Milky and felt uncomfortable during or after a consultation, it is important to obtain early advice from a legal team experienced in supporting former patients of doctors placed under restrictions.

Managing Partner Bree Knoester commenced Supreme Court proceedings in late 2016 on behalf of 60 patients in relation to allegations of sexual assault against Dr Andrew Churchyard, a former neurologist in Melbourne.  A confidential settlement, made with a denial of liability, was achieved in 2017 – an outcome which provided support and a voice to sexual abuse survivors.
