Why did you become a lawyer?

Those who are disadvantaged, who are unaware of their rights, may no longer be able to work, or are suffering every day of their life….Becoming a lawyer has given me the opportunity to be able to do what I love every day, and that is to help to make a difference in these people’s lives.

How long have you been with Adviceline?

All up just over 2 years.

What is your favourite memory about working with the ALIL team?

Working at ALIL is like seeing your family every day. Your surrounded by supportive people, we have fun and we all share a passion for the work we do.

Who is your hero/role model?

I don’t particularly follow anyone, but the dream would be to become like any lawyer on the TV series ‘Suits’. A female version of Harvey Specter would be nice!

Last book read?

As a lawyer I often read so much in my working day, that sadly I can never finish a fiction book socially. A book I have been trying to start however is, “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens.

Number one holiday destination?

Fiji… or anywhere with warm weather and by the water. Preferably somewhere that doesn’t require a 14-day quarantine, covid test and mask!

What is something most people don't know about you?

One of my favourite hobbies outside of work is to put on my exercise gear and enjoy a boxing session with my trainer.

Favourite cuisine?

Thai.

What motivates you to work hard?

Working in a role that allows me to empathise with my clients and have some meaningful impact in their life, motivates me to do all I can to achieve the best outcome for them. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing that what we contribute as a team and fight for every day can make a significant difference in someone else’s life.

What advice would you give to an aspiring lawyer?

  • never stop learning and taking on opportunities
  • being a lawyer can be challenging and stressful, but never give up on what you are passionate about. Find new ways of doing things, reach out for support and think positive.
