Facial scarring and medical negligence

Facial scarring and medical negligence

Last week Adviceline Injury Lawyers settled a medical negligence case for a client who suffered scarring to her face following laser treatment.

The client underwent treatment by a medical specialist to remove broken capillaries from her face with Intense Pulsed Light therapy (IPL). As a result of a new machine being calibrated at an inappropriate level, the client suffered burns to her face which ultimately left her with scarring, particularly to her cheeks.

The client received compensation for her injuries in an out of court settlement.

Facial scarring or disfigurement can be very upsetting, given the importance of the face to a person's identity. There are many situations that may result in facial scarring and if you have suffered scarring as a result of medical or other treatment, you may be entitled to compensation.
