Adviceline Injury Lawyers is a specialist personal injury law firm in Victoria, with particular expertise in work injury (including hearing loss), accidents on the road, public place slips and trips and claims of negligence (i.e. medical negligence and misconduct; sexual abuse).
For more than 50 years, we have been helping injured Victorians access the compensation they need to get their lives back on track. We take on all types of cases and represent all parts of the community, including people who find it difficult to afford a lawyer or speak a language other than English. Several of our lawyers speak many different languages including Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) and Greek.
An opportunity is currently available for a legal assistant to join the Adviceline team in our Melbourne CBD office. As a key member of the team, you will be providing administrative and secretarial support to a group of professional staff, ultimately contributing to the development of an expert Medical Negligence and general personal injury practice.
Duties will include:
- file maintenance - electronic and paper (FileSite)
- diary management
- brief preparation
- preparation of correspondence and Court documents
- billing and disbursement management
- regular contact with clients
- liaison with external third parties.
It is essential that you have experience as a legal assistant/secretary in personal injury litigation, of particular interest would be medical negligence experience. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills (both written and oral), demonstrate an eye for detail and strong initiative. Technically, you will demonstrate intermediate to advanced proficiency in the MS Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
