Michael Lombard is a Partner at Adviceline Injury Lawyers, and is the partner in charge of our TAC division. He also has extensive experience in public liability claims, Victims of Crime compensation and Coronial Inquests and Investigations.
Michael is dedicated to helping vulnerable people overcome the challenges of the TAC and the accident injury compensation systems to achieve their proper entitlements. Expediting claims where a serious injury is involved, Michael is working with the Traffic Accident Commission (TAC) and the Supreme Court to ‘fast-track’ payments for pain and suffering in the shortest time.
Qualified mediator and Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Personal Injury Specialist, Michael has been named Personal Injury Litigation ‘Lawyer of the Year’ in the 11th edition of Best Lawyers® in Australia.
Michael is further recognised by the publication as a ‘Best Lawyer’ in Personal Injury Litigation (2014-2019); and Motor Vehicle Law (2019).
Michael has written numerous books, articles and papers on personal injury and spoken at seminars throughout Australia on injury law. He has a particular interest in head injury from road accidents.
Prior to joining Adviceline Injury Lawyers, Michael had established his own legal firm of Lombard and Associates. During this time, he was the spokesperson for The Action Committee for Transport Injured Children (TACTIC), a group of parents of head injured children protesting against the Victorian Government’s intended privatisation of the Transport Accident Commission. After a year of protest the Kennett Government backed down from its plan.
Understanding the need for people to be emotionally supported following terrible and often lifelong injuries, Michael has been an integral member of the Road Trauma Support Services Victoria (RTSSV) since its early inception. His support of the organisation’s work has ensured the not-for-profits survival and facilitated a critical relationship with the TAC. In 2018, after 25 years of friendship, support, guidance and dogged determination, Michael was admitted as an honorary life member of the RTSSV.
In 2001 Michael joined Holding Redlich as the partner in charge of the traffic accident division.
From 2012 – 2016 Michael was a trustee and chairman of Law Aid (a fund assisting injured Victorians in civil action), and in 2015 was elected as a member of council and Director of the Law Institute of Victoria.
