Shyla Sivanas is a Lawyer at Adviceline Injury Lawyers with a strong focus on assisting clients injured in transport accidents and in the workplace. Shyla also assists clients with claims under their superannuation policy, injuries in public places and crimes compensation.

She believes in a full service approach to assisting clients and often runs claims concurrently for transport or workplace injuries, victims of crime applications and superannuation insurance policy claims.  Shyla understands the interactions between the different claims and works hard to ensure clients can achieve the maximum benefit that they are entitled to under these different systems.

As someone who migrated to Australia herself, Shyla empathises with the challenges of navigating a foreign legal system.  She prides herself on giving clients clear explanations and assistance throughout their entire claims journey.

Shyla understands how an injury can have a significant impact on every aspect of daily life.  Shyla “goes into bat” for her clients so that they can focus on what is truly important – their recovery.

Shyla has always been an ambassador for helping others and with her work at Adviceline Injury Lawyers, her care, empathy, professionalism, and knowledge of the law is used every day in fighting for her clients and obtaining the entitlements that they deserve.

Experience

Before joining the firm, Shyla has had experience in community legal centres and in human rights work, helping members of the community access legal advice they may not otherwise have been able to.

Shyla has been involved in numerous personal injury litigation settlements, including:

  • A settlement in excess of a million dollars for a young client injured in a transport accident.  This was achieved without the need for the client to attend a protracted and traumatic court hearing.
  • A pain and suffering settlement for a 65 year old worker who was overworked in a busy hospital.
  • A six-figure settlement for a client who was injured in an interstate accident with a kangaroo.
  • Disputing a WorkCover insurer’s decision about entitlements for an Impairment Benefit, increasing the settlement amount for the client by $120,000.
