Paula Shelton is a Special Counsel at Adviceline Injury Lawyers, and is a Law Institute of Victoria accredited personal injury specialist.
With more than 25 years’ litigation experience, Paula has worked across a breadth of areas including medical negligence, product liability, public liability, class actions and social justice litigation.
Paula’s dedication to high quality healthcare led her to take up a Board position at Northern Health in 2016. This dedication and her keen interest in medico-legal issues saw her serve on the Western Health Institutional Ethics Committee and Human Research & Ethics Committee between 2002 and 2014. Paula was appointed to the Voluntary Assisted Dying Review Board in 2018.
A passion for justice drives Paula to fight for her clients and achieve the best possible result. This also led to her nomination for Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year in 2016.
Paula has worked on many high profile coronial inquests and is highly sought after as an expert commentator in her professional field and in the media.
Paula is predominantly based in our Melbourne office and regularly travels to our suburban offices to meet with clients.

Experience
Over the course of her career, Paula has been involved in notable cases such as the inquests of Luke Batty, Kelly Thompson (family violence murders), Sarah Cafferkey (murdered by a parolee) and Maria Liordos (child who died in state care).
She has also conducted breast implant class actions, child sexual abuse cases and claims for many catastrophically injured plaintiffs, including many cases involving lifelong care.
