Standards seem to have changed at the TAC. When they closed down their Melbourne office and moved to Geelong, staff who had been there for 20 years or more barely received a goodbye sandwich and a clock. Current day executives and Board members receive first-class travel with unlimited sandwiches , no doubt. The Herald Sun reports that TAC chairman Andrew Dyer clocked up $18,000 in expenses for a trip to Canada. He is reported to have stayed at the Ritz Carlton.

One Board member headed off to Paris and charged up the train fare, according to the result of an FOI application.

It reports that Janet Dore, the current CEO billed for, a $400 taxi ride, a four shot espresso, Evian water and restaurant tips. This revelation comes on top of an announcement that 70 jobs are to go from the TAC head office in Geelong.

It seems the motorist's dollar is going a very long way these days.
