About the Role
We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a TAC lawyer/associate with between 3-4 years of post-admission experience to join our Melbourne team.
You will be supported by an experienced TAC Law Clerk and Senior Legal Assistant.
As the TAC practice grows, there will be prospects of transferring to a full-time work arrangement.
You will have the ability to carve out a flexible workplace arrangement that will suit your personal commitments.
You will be a driven and energetic lawyer with at least three years of demonstrated expertise and be able to:
- perform file work, draft legal/court documents, prepare and compile briefs and instruct at Court
- prepare matters for TAC protocol/LIV Conferences, VCAT applications and Court
- appear and advocate for clients at directions hearings, pre-issue conferences, serious injury/damages conferences, VCAT conferences and the like
- attend client meetings, court or barrister conferences
- take instructions from clients, provide legal assistance/advice to clients via face-to-face or telephone including information on statutory benefits and serious injury applications
- carry out a variety of legal tasks associated with the practice area/s and oversee delegated work of assigned Administrative Staff
- assist with the marketing of our TAC practice.
You will be confident in working independently however demonstrate a collegiate attitude and be keen to work and share knowledge with your peers. You will have the opportunity, should you wish, to conduct your own advocacy.
This role presents great file autonomy and the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting TAC matters.
