This is a full time, office-based position (however open to WFH after probation) that will provide close support to Practice Director, Linda Hanley. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting Linda’s practice, while undertaking varied and interesting work.

On a day-to-day basis you can expect the role to include:

  • Liaising with our clients, barristers and medical specialists by telephone and email
  • Preparing cases for Court
  • Preparation of correspondence and Court documents including Court Books
  • Billing and preparation of costs claims
  • File maintenance – electronic (File Site/Mattersphere)
  • Diary management
  • Greeting clients and visitors to the office
  • Collecting and sending mail
  • Photocopying and scanning
  • Stationary orders
  • Archiving

About you

We are seeking someone who has experience supporting senior lawyers, ideally within personal injury matters and particularly WorkCover, however we are open to all candidates who can demonstrate the capacity to learn and develop these skills provided there is a genuine interest in legal administration support and personal injury law.

Given the focus of this position is administration and coordination support, we are not considering law students. The team are eager to invest in a candidate who wishes to be a career legal assistant and contribute to the long-term success of the team.

To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate in a professional manner in both written and oral form
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Accurate typing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook and technology 
  • Strong work ethic, drive and initiative
  • A strong team player with a positive attitude and genuine interest in assisting others to complete tasks and deliver the best possible service to clients
  • Ability to build rapport with clients, stakeholders and colleagues
  • Uses discretion and deals with sensitive information appropriately
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
